Hi, I'm Amanda (she/her)
A Small Town Girl with a Global Heart
I spent 15 years teaching and travelling across Asia before re-patriating to Nova Scotia, or Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral, current, and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. My work is rooted in the belief that true healing happens when we learn to listen to ourselves with compassion, release old patterns, and reconnect with our deepest truth, which may include ancestral gifts and wounds.
My approach is gentle yet deep, intuitive yet practical—offering a supportive space for you to unburden, heal, and move forward with greater self-trust, confidence, and clarity.

Why did I choose
Cove Coaching & Counselling?
I chose the name Cove for my practice because a cove is a sheltered, quiet place amid the waves—a space to pause, breathe, and reconnect before stepping back into the currents of life.

For many of my clients, life has been a constant push forward—caring for others, carrying responsibilities, navigating self-doubt, and feeling the weight of old patterns. Cove represents a space where you don’t have to hold it all together. Here, you are safe to explore, unburden, and rediscover the parts of you that have been waiting to be seen.

This is not a place of avoidance or escape but of deep restoration—a refuge where you can gather strength, clarity, and trust in yourself before stepping back into the world with more confidence, connection, and ease.

In this space, we honor both the storms and the stillness, knowing that healing is not about becoming someone new but about returning home to yourself and moving forward from that lens.

My Approach
I'm an integrative counsellor and coach with a heart-centered, trauma-informed approach that blends deep healing with empowered growth. My work is rooted in integrity, which Martha Beck describes as the state where “what you believe, what you know, what you feel, and what you do are all aligned.” For me, this means showing up authentically in my practice—grounded in ethical care, lived experience, and professional training across both counselling and coaching.

I have a strong foundation in Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and soul-based trauma healing. Alongside this, I’ve completed certifications in life and wellness coaching, allowing me to walk beside clients who are ready to move forward, find clarity, and live with more purpose and alignment.

I often work with clients who are navigating burnout, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, or patterns of people-pleasing and self-abandonment. Some are seeking deep healing from past wounds; others are seeking grounded support as they step into something new. Many are looking for both. That’s where an integrative approach matters!

As someone trained in both counselling and coaching, I hold clear ethical boundaries and a deep respect for scope of practice. I will always let you know whether we’re working within a counselling space—focused on trauma, regulation, or emotional healing—or a coaching space, where we’re visioning, planning, and taking aligned action. Sometimes, we move between both—with your consent and readiness leading the way.
If you’re looking for a space where your story is honoured, your nervous system is held with care, and your next steps are supported with compassion and clarity, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.
